1886 World of Sport
Strangely, given that we’ve been doing this for almost 10 years, we’d never done a shop. So along with Josh who runs Astorelike94 we set up shop for 10 days in a disused shop on Cross Street in August 2025, just around the corner from Islington Town Hall. Some memorable things that happened :
- Numerous people thinking that Ray Parlour had died upon seeing the Parlour Shrine and thinking it was the first they were hearing of it.
- A guy who found the t-shirt he had been looking for since he had had it as a kid
- Majestic Wines Holloway sending a load of beers down because they’re Gooners
- Olivia and the girls from Raabs bakery for feeding us, coming and hanging out and sending all the old boys with amazing stories up to see us.
- Iggor Cavalera bringing us a signed copy of Beneath The Remains.
- Getting done for the fakest £50 note of all time, he put a spell on me.
- Guy getting screamed at to hurry the fuck up by his partner from outside for saying he’d only be half an hour, an hour later.
- Little boy who’s dad was looking at stuff inside and just casually started having a piss in the street.
- Lotte Wubben-Moy coming in with a Champions 25 shirt and hanging out with everyone.
- Louis Dunford getting a lampshade because he needed one for his bedside light
- Rebeka the neighbour upstairs letting us hang the old Highbury flag from her bedroom window for 10 days
